New 4 point rule? was created by A-nobody
Hi all, can somebody PLEASE tell me what this new 4 point rule thing is a regards PIP?
I have an on going award for full PIP both components and an due a review in 2026 .
What will happen to me ? Will i still just get a light Touch Review?
I also have in writing from DWP that I will never be asked to attend another medical review as long as my circumstances remain the same. They sent me that letter some years ago.
I am totally confused and would appreciate your help.
Thanks

Hi A-nobody,

The new 4 point rule basically means that in one category, you must score at least 4 points to be successful for a PIP award. On top of this, the minimum points must also be met.
If you go to the "PIP/UC changes" tab at the top of the website in the pink box, this will clarify for you, what we know up to date, before the actual budget on 26th March 2025. You can also take an online test and see what the outcome would be.

The changes aren't set to come into effect until November 2026, so if your review is before then, then you may hit lucky and not be impacted for another 10 years or so.

Chris.
