Hi there i am an appointee for my son and dreading getting the migration to UC notice for him. He is gets the income-related esa and he is in the Support Group.
When i fill in the migration to UC form online for him will he have to have an interview too like a face to face assessment or telephone assessment is this done for everyone as he won't be able to cope very well with that. Thanks
Teresa

Hi teresasue

No your son won't have any interaction at all with the DWP during UC Managed Migration. All contact from the DWP will be with you. If anyone such as a Work Coach asks to contact your son let us know please.

I've completed the migration recently, most of my communications with UC were through the journal. There were 2 phone calls but I didn't have to attend a face to face at the local office.

I did inform them I'm in a support group (in the journal) almost immediately after I made the claim. I also told them during each phone call.

I wish you the best of luck
