Can anyone confirm if people on existing LCWRA will also be reassessed under the new 4 point system when it is introduced in April 26? And also l, have LCWRA reassessments now stopped until such a time when the new rules apply? Thank you
The 4 points apply only to PIP. The government is planning to scrap the WCA but this needs a new Act of Parliament. Liz Kendall's statement included --we will guarantee that no-one who has been found LCWRA prior to April 2026 and remains LCWRA following reassessment will see their UC health element entitlement changed-- There have been hardly any LCWRA reviews since the Covid pandemic so when/if they restart there are already years of backlogs. Also the government wants to lose DWP staff and more should be revealed tomorrow. A sure way of predicting more WCA reviews is if the private companies Serco Ingeues Capita and Maximus who administer them start recruiting staff. In the past when these companies had staff shortage they recruited pharmacists and paramedics etc
