PIP Review - AR2 was created by HelenWatkins23
Hi there
I got awarded standard rate daily living after a tribunal. The award was until November 2025.
I got sent my renewal form and its an AR2 form, which I was under the impression was a "light touch" form. I was under the impression that you only got sent an AR2 for more ongoing awards and certainly not after a tribunal.
Am I reading too much into this?
I'm slightly worried about the cuts as i score low across several categories and I also think I meet the criteria for mobilty now, I got 4 points at tribunal and I've definitley deteriorated. Which leads to my main question. If I have been given an AR2 should I just be grateful for that? or should I attempt to at lest try to make sure the mobility component matches my needs? Thanks in advance.

Hi Helen
I don't know whether your forum name is your real name, but if it is you should change it as the forum posts can be read by anyone on the internet. Follow the link and click on "My full name is showing, how do I stop it?" benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
Regarding being sent an AR2. They are issued to people who have:
- very stable needs which are unlikely to change over time; or
• high level needs which will either stay the same or get worse; or
• a planned award review date due on or at State Pension age
The form still allows you to say if your condition has deteriorated, which you say yours has. Providing you haven't reached SPA already, then you should go after the mobility, because once you reach SPA if you don't have a mobility award in place, you can't claim it.

Great! thank you. My user name is not my legal name, I claim under a different surname, but will change it.
