PIP reassessment 18 months late was created by wilsonm
I have had PPMS diagnosed for 31 years. I receive standard care rate and enhanced mobility PIP. DWP received my review papers 18 months ago for reassessment they send me text messages every 3 months saying they are still assessing me. I have now reached state pension age when I believe I should become a light touch claimant.
In view of the new legislation if the DWP don’t assess me before November 2026 I will lose my care component as I would not score four in one of the daily living activities when the new legislation comes in.
My question is would my original assessment date of November 2023 stand when I should be assessed on the present criteria or will they apply the new criteria to me if they delay assessing me for what would be by then 3 years.

Hi wilsonm,

I believe it would stand from the original date you applied. Similar to when you start a PIP award and you receive a backdated amount of money ( it's taken form the original date at the start of your application ).

Hope this helps, Chris.
