Pre Appeal decision was created by bubbles
Hello, I wonder if anyone has any experience of the DWP making a decision in the claimants favor before appeal. I have asked through the journal how long underpayments will take to be made and I have been told that they can not give timescales and they will contact me once all the work on my claim has been done, that was 3 weeks ago. Surely rectifying a mistake on payments and then making a payment for the underpayment can not take too long, but they will not even give me an approximate time. Has anyone had experience of this and how long did it take for the DWP to pay the money owed. It has been going on for seven months now is getting to be a nightmare. Any insight or help would be gratefully received.
Thank you

Hi bubbles,
Post approved and yes I have had this personally happen to me - My PIP was stopped after a review - I went MR, then to first tier tribunal, but before tribunal I was sent a text message advising that the DWP had changed their minds, and awarded me PIP for a further 4 years.
Chris.

bubbles, me too. I got a call from DWP just before the tribunal offering to reinstate my award, also I got a few more extra years out of them. I didn’t wait long for my money, a month at the most.

hello everyone. I had a pre appeal decision in my favour regarding transitional protection being calculated incorrectly. i was told the underpayment would be calculated and i would be contacted regarding money owed but they could not give a timeframe. 9 weeks later and still nothing. i have heard that my appeal has closed and my migration was 9 months ago. This is really dragging and they owe me a reasonable amount of money, they have been underpaying by £275, so its really causing issues. When i write on my journal my replies come from Bristol service centre, so who do i raise a complaint to as no one listens or replies and nobody seems to know what is happening, all i have been told is its with a specialist team for the last 9 weeks. Any help on how to get them to listen and hurry up and who to complain to would be great, thank you

Hi bubbles
If you are not getting where you may want to ask your MP for assistance, some MP's are more pro-active than others.

Thanks Gary. Yes i have been in contact with my MP and they have pushed to hurry them and also a lovely Benefits Welfare manager at my local council has been amazing, but its still dragging and i think it is about time I complain, probably make them pick on me if i do poke the bear, but i am pulling my hair out after 9 months of this. I just think no one knows how to change the transitional protection amount after its been calculated from information on the system, its very frustrating. Does anybody know who the manager of Bristol service centre is so i can address my complaint to them please? Thanks
