With move due from legacy to UC very soon and guide suggestion to check getting all that your entitled to first, I've realised that I don't get the disability premium (not sure of its exact name) that is in place of carers allowance if you live alone and have nobody claiming CA for you. I get PIP enhanced for both living & mobility + ESA.

I think it would be from early 2021 so if they backpay that whole period it could be quite significant £ + my current savings it will probably take me over the £16k then presumably I wouldn't be entitled to UC and not covered by the transitional protection when it drops to reclaim.

I'm not sure now what to do for the best but they also may not get the premium claim completed before the UC transfer deadline anyway.

So I'm not sure if would be bigger headache to claim although the free support I've had for care has gone so I will need to pay professional rates in future.

Hi Townhound

I would phone the Citizens Advice Help to Claim phone number which is on page 2 of your Managed Migration letter. They have been very good at assisting Forum members with the complexities of claiming UC.
Here is a recommendation from our Forum member VIA--
