Received managed migration notice to move from ESA to UC was created by DJ
I have just received my managed migration notice to move from ESA to PIP my deadline date is 1 July 2025.
I have of course downloaded your guide.
However, NOT that there ever is a good time, to receive this it could NOT have arrived at a worse time due to, me being assaulted! Having to deal with the Police, etc..,.
I have been in the support group of ESA indefinitely now I have got to move across to the equivalent on UC with the transitional protection to ENSURE that I do NOT suffer financially. Although I am aware that this will erode over time.
I am currently on PIP award was indefinitely, until these proposed High rates for daily living components and High rate for mobility.
Due to the physical difficulties that I have and the way that my laptops are set up (re due to my physical disabilities) it is always physically challenging for me to complete any on-line forms.
I HAVE contacted Citizens advice and UC explaining the extreme difficulties that I have due to my physical disabilities with online forms.
UC have said that I am able to have a 3 way telephone conversation with citizens advice also on the call. However, I have heard some really negative comments from people making the transition in this way.
However, the benefit of using CAB is that they can ensure that reasonable adjustments are sought as I am PHYSICALLY UNABLE to attend the job centre. To verify who I am. As I do NOT have any photo id and a biographical phone call to confirm I am who I say that, is also to be requested, under reasonable adjustments. I do have my birth certificate. As I am in the support group which I WILL NEED to ENSURE that status is moved across with me. Also to ENSURE that I am NOT expected to send in any fit notes. Or expected to look for work.
Before I finally make my decision about which way I am going to do this re the 3 way call with the CAB, or to attempt to do it with assistance on line.
Therefore, do you have a copy of the questions that we are asked and the processes, taking into account the reasonable adjustments that I require, in my personal circumstances. In order for me to assess whether or NOT I am best with assistance to download the form.
Realistically, IF it goes smoothly either way I should NOT be expected to have much engagement with a work coach due to me being in the support group which its equivalent should migrate across with me. That is so, for now, at least,.
The Government proposals go ahead and then NEXT NOVEMBER 2026, I think those of us who are too ill and disabled to work, This will then be the final straw for many.
PLEASE can you let me KNOW if you have a copy of the form for me to view as if I were to download the form from UC I would then have to fill it out within a month.
I have worked out the date in June that it is financially best for me to make the managed migration. Due to the 2 weeks run on of ESA then the 3 week wait until the UC should be in my account.
I could DO with the additional support that the CAB is offering me until my first correct payment of UC goes into my account. AS I AM TOTALLY ON MY OWN WITH THIS. NO FAMILY alive and life long friends 300 miles away from where I live.
Care workers, are NOT able to assist with this, and indeed it is a care worker who has assaulted me as such Adult Health and Social Care are also facing some questions, by the public protection department of the Police. As they commission the care companies that send care workers, out to me. As such they are offering NO support to me to physically be able to complete it on line.
However, by doing it all over the phone with a 3 way call is a safety net for me I am concerned that if there are any errors that it may be worse for me to deal with if I have NOT done via the laptop, and obviously I would then have to call UC!
Therefore, it would be EXTREMELY helpful if you have a form that I can download to look at. Before I make my final decision about which way I am going to do this.
I do NOT know what the form looks like and neither do I KNOW how this system works.
Do you have a copy of the form, that I can see before, I make my final decision?
Kind Regards

You do have some time to complete the process. And seem knowledgable, and in control of the situation. From what I have heard, for many the transition has gone smoothly. Follow the guides and I hope it will go well for you. I am in exactly the same position as you right now, so here's hoping for us both!
