My husband and I are in the process of transferring to UC. We had the severe disability premium in ESA and we're claiming for housing costs. Citizen's advice expects our award to be about £2140 after the assessment period ends. I'm just wondering if anyone else knows why the advance payment we were offered was only about £1135? I thought it was supposed to be 100% of the award amount? I just don't want to panic for no reason. Is this normal? Kind regards
A UC award amount is at the discretion of the UC agent. The guidance says it may be 100% of the award. I would phone Citizens Advice Help to Claim and see if they can throw any light on the matter.
