Hi I applied for PIP recently and I got a letter asking me to confirm my travel abroad dates and reason. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety, fibromyalgia and arthritis so I am usually house bound in daily life. I travelled abroad to a warmer country 2 yrs ago for 3 months with my family upon my doctor advise due to severe stress. Has anyone got advice for how to word my response? I am anxious that my claim will be rejected due to travel.
You are allowed to have a holiday and still claim PIP. It's hard to advise exactly what you might say, but I would emphasise that you went on the advice of your doctor and therefore for medical reasons. If the trip didn't make much difference, then you should say so (and I assume it didn't if you are still housebound.}
