Hi
I first received my pip higher rate for both care and mobility in 2019 for 5 years and they extended it twice and more recently extended again until may 2026 just wondered if it is normal to extend it twice,
I do receive 4 points in one category but with all the new changes along with everyone else I am worried,
As I have never had a review and my condition is progressive and is much more advanced than when I first applied should I just sit tight and wait for the review or should I let them know again I am worse? When I called them last year about a review they told me on the phone it was extended and also said as I was on enhanced anyway not to worry about changes and to wait until the review arrived as wouldn’t change my payment which I know any way

Yes, it is common for them to extend it twice as they have a backlog of cases.

Only you can decide whether you want to inform them of your worsening condition now. You can do this and inform them that you are doing so for informational purposes. Alternatively, you can wait until your next review, as many people who have an enhanced award do. Most people don't want to risk having an earlier review, so they keep quiet unless they are hoping to improve their award.
