Advice needed re PIP was created by Glissando
I am 63. I have bad hip arthritis and autism and am mentally ill. I am on PIP. It runs out in October 2027, about 11 months before I go on the state pension, which is all I have.

I am very worried that they will take PIP away and I will be left impoverished as a pensioner.

I looked up Attendence Allowance but it is quite a small sum.

Has anyone any advice please.

I tried to find a forum for this but I find this website very hard to use.

Thank you.

Hi Glissandro

PIP reviews forms can be sent out up to a year before the PIP award's end date. If your PIP is due to end in October 2027, you could be reviewed any time from November 2026.

I know it's scary, but as it stands at the moment, you will likely be sent a review form to complete and will be assessed. It doesn't mean you will automatically lose your PIP. When the time comes, you will be able to read through the guide on how to complete your form.

It is possible that if they delay issuing a review form, you may be fortunate enough to be close enough to State Pension Age, that they decide to move you onto an ongoing PIP award, in which case your PIP would continue. However, I cannot confirm that this will happen at the moment.
