A 35 year old, resident in Scotland, has just been permanently ill health early retired. They already receive ADP at the highest rate for both componants. Are they also entitled to the New Style ESA as an addition to their ADP? They have paid the necessary NI contributions over the relevant years and are now unable to work but will receive an occupational pension. If entitled to both benefits, does one payment affect the other and how? Thank you in advance.
