About I-d for UC

The ESA to UC migration guide mentions about verifying I-d when making the online claim for UC. Please can I ask, how exactly do you verify the I-d when doing this? Is it a case of taking and uploading photos of the I-d onto the online claim form? Thanks

Thanks for this. But having watched it, please can you clarify however - what does it mean by “you’ll then be taken to a secure online identity verification service”? Does this mean that you move to some sort of external link, outside of the claim form, and then you have to upload photos? I’m just trying to clarify if you have to take and upload photos. Thanks.
