Hi can anyone advise me please?
I was receiving income related esa, am in the middle of migrating to UC.
just had a letter telling me my contribution based esa will be changing to new style esa from 15/4/25 and they'll be in touch for an appointment with work coach etc.
I am so confused.
I used to get contribution based esa, but when my ex partner left about 5 years ago it seemed to trigger something and i then began getting income related esa. Noone has mentioned contribution esa for years, i am so confused. which isnt good as i am already drowning in stress about the UC change.
i dont know what to do
any advise would be amazing

Hi Mama

Your experience is familiar to a majority of our ESA Forum members. You will get New Style ESA and a top up of UC. In the past your top up was Income Based ESA.

ok so just wait for them to get in touch for appointment then.
Thank you, sorry was just panicking as yet another unwanted surprise through the letter box
