ESA to UC Migration was created by Wirralguy
I received my migration notice to migrate from ESA to UC.I have until 12th June 2025 to submit my migration.I also get an ESA payment on 6th June 2025.
I receive IR ESA SG with enhanced disability premium plus HB.
Heard reports of claimants not receiving TP and element of LCWRA,what will happen if I don't receive my TP and LCWRA when i submit my migration on 6th June.Am already feeling anxious and worried.

Hi Wirralguy

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum.

You need to get your timing right and apply for UC after you have received your ESA.

When you apply for UC your legacy benefits will stop (ESA and HB) you should be placed straight in to the LCWRA element.

When you claim UC you can get a housing element if you have to claim any housing costs.

Most claimants coming from ESA who receive disability premiums such as SDP and EDP will be worse off claiming UC, providing you claim by 12th June then you should get TP and you should not be worse off.

It is only natural to feel anxious when applying for something new, try not to over think things. Let us know how you get on.

Gary

Hi, that's not 100% true though Gary? Yes whilst we won't be any worse off at the point of transfer to UC, we will be worse off every time there is an increase in Benefits Rates or we have an increase in rent as the MP will be reduced each time. Therefore in real terms, we will potentially be a lot worse off?
