LCWRA was created by andrea38
My daughter was assessed while in a hospital and assigned or placed in the LCWRA. The assessment was done in January, but she was told there was a three-month waiting period until she received any extra money. Unfortunately, no money arrived in April, and when she enquired over the phone, the lady said she could not understand why she had not been paid yet. However, my daughter did receive her normal Universal Credit award. The lady then said she would refer it to her case manager. Later that day, the case manager rang back and said you have had your three-month and four-month reviews, you are now on your five-month evaluation, and we will pay you next month. My daughter did not understand her; she has autism, ADHD and OCD, but she accepted the answer although she felt very confused. The payment just arrived this month, for which she is very grateful. Still, when ever she questions why she did not receive it last month in her work journal the DWP do not seem to give a proper answer in writing as my daughter believed there was a three month wait as did the original lady on the phone think the same when she said she could not understand why the payment had not been sent out. Would contacting the CAB for help be worth it, or is it too late? Or is the waiting period longer than 3 months? The DWP will send details of the assessment, which should have the date, so perhaps if she takes this with her to the CAB, they could help, but we do not understand the law or if they have missed a month's payment. Does anyone know the waiting period? When I type it into Google, it always says three months. Does anyone know the best way to write to them about it? It is not a mandatory reconsideration; they are just possibly creating confusion.

Hi andrea38

It can be longer than 3 months as it is a wait of 3 full monthly assessment periods from claiming LCWRA. So part of a monthly assessment period would not count.
