Mandatory Migration from esa to uc problems

Hi, I’ve had to move from esa to uc because I got the letter saying I must. I’ve had a lot of problems, they had my passport and driving licence photos online yet still insisted I attend an interview. I wrote 3 messages in my journal telling them this was really difficult for me due to my mental and physical health, my mobility is bad but my mental health issues were very overwhelming. I have adhd, ptsd, anxiety, depression and I wrote explaining I was in a terrible state etc (long, detailed messages) which were all ignored. I found on the government website my husband (who I married in September but have yet to be able to move in with due to my mental health, fear of change and organisational capabilities etc) could take my stuff in. I wrote to them giving them explicit permission for him to act on my behalf and finally received a short message saying make sure he brings his ID (which I’d told them he would) and totally disregarding my previous messages. They only looked at the passport and driving licence they’d already seen, they weren’t interested in all the other stuff I sent. Now, it says online, I’m only entitled to the standard rate and may have to do a work capability assessment as I’ve told them I’m disabled. I thought that mandatory migration from ESA meant that you’d be automatically placed in the LCWRA group, am I wrong? I’ve sent journal messages and received no reply again. Im so anxious I’m having suicidal thoughts, my husband had to stay with me last night even though he can’t be in my house for too long due to it being full of black mould which sets off his asthma. I don’t want to ask him to stay again, I’m 62, but he’s a pensioner and I don’t want him to be ill. Could anyone help me please? Being neurodivergent (I’m awaiting an autism assessment too) I find it hard to process things and regulate my emotions. Im worried sick tbh, please can anyone tell me what I should do please? Thank you so much

Hi Julie

Before Migration were you in the ESA Support Group or WRAG? How long ago was your last WCA medical ?

Hi David, thanks for replying. I was in the support group. I can’t remember when my last assessment was unfortunately. I know it wasn’t recently, but I have no concept of time, it’s one of the frustrating symptoms of my neurodivergence. I’ve had assessments, but I can’t remember if they were for PIP (I’m on the highest rate for both components) or ESA. Do you know how often you’re supposed to have them please? I did do the practice one on here and scored 123 points, but I know they wouldn’t score me as highly as they should. Thank you

Hi Julie

As you are in the Support Group you will be covered by the DWP Enhanced Support Journey and they should make reasonable adjustments due to your health condition. For instance sending out a DWP officer to your home to assist with claiming UC.
You should automatically be given LCWRA and be paid the LCWRA element from day one. Though the DWP are admitting delays with this owing to staff shortage.
