Hi Loki
I would advise you to use the Citizens Advice Help to Claim service and their phone number is one page 2 or your Managed Migration letter. They could arrange a 3 way call with UC or a DWP Home Visit. Here is a recommendation of their service from another Forum member:-

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for the concern, but I can't talk on the phone due to both autism and severe ME/CFS, so a 3 way conversation is definitely out. I worked through most of the online application but see I will have to use the journal to add things like rent request, bedroom allowance etc. The extension is useful as my council haven't responded to my request for a letter that shows the number of bedrooms and my actual rent, my tenancy agreement doesn't show this. The council did send me a supporting letter but it didn't contain this information which will be needed as soon as I can start the journal and upload evidence. They are not an easy council to get responses from since becoming a unitary authority. My original date to claim was next week, it would have meant my first UC payment would have been due the end of December, so obviously there wouldn't be anyone in the DWP to deal with journal entries over the holiday season. According to your guide I more than meet the criteria for complex needs (I have other medical conditions besides the autism and severe ME). Fortunately I have a secure council tenancy, so if it takes them a while to get the rent correct at least I am secure in my home.
I just wanted the forum members to be aware that the DWP do seem to be issuing extensions for the UC migration, although like the member who started this thread, the date on the letter was close to the original deadline.
