UC Migration incorrect deduction was created by samkajo
Hi
I have just received my first notice of payment after going through forced migration. I was on IRESA LCWRA and they have deducted £609.05 stating the reason that I am continuing to claim.
Clearly I am not continuing to claim ESA as that has stopped due to forced migration.
I have added a note to my Journal to say so...but would be grateful if anybody can advise if I need to do anything else/if this is normal etc.etc basically anything that will relieve my stress
Im now in complete panic mode
Many Thanks in advance
just seen an added note that basically says that if I was claiming ESA I need to contact them to tell them ive changed to UC and to update my records...surely this should be automatic and I have already stated in my journal that I am not able to manage phonecalls

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi samkajo
Unfortunately, these things don't seem to be automatic. Remind them in your journal that you can't manage phone calls - so ask them how this information can be passed onto ESA.
If they won't do it - you may have to write a letter.

Hi samkajo
The DWP are notorious for not communicating with each other with regard to different benefits/departments.
I completely agree with you that it should not be the claimant's responsibility to inform ESA when they have received a migration letter and have no choice but to claim UC.
