Migrating to UC from IR ESA and message in journal about New Style ESA?

I was sent a migration letter to move from Income Related ESA to UC at the end of March this year.

My local Citizens Advice helped me fill in the form to claim, and things seemed to be going okay, when I got a message in my UC journal about "your claim for New Style ESA yesterday(11th July 2025).

I have left a message querying this, but I'm extremely worried, as I also read in my payments section under Health: "You said your health affects you at work or prevents you from working. You might need to have an assessment before we can consider if you will get extra money for this."

I'm assuming this is referring to having to do another Work Capability Assessment? I'm now panicking, as I only did a WCA just over a year ago, and was moved into the Support Group?

Any ideas would be very welcome.

Hi Sarahmac

Please try not to panic. A lot of people have automatically been moved onto New Style ESA (without their knowledge).

The bit about your health is a standard statement that everyone receives. I haven't heard of anyone in the support group being called for an assessment during this migration process.
