You need to get your timing right when transitioning over to UC from ESA .
Remember UC has an assessment period for example 17th July to 16th August you then receive your UC 7 days later (23rd August)
If a claimant is going to be worse off, you are best to leave claiming until the last moment, if you are in receipt of ESA wait until your ESA payments has hit your bank account and then apply for UC.
