Can I please ask for some advice as to the best time to submit my Migration Application to UC? I understand: APPLY FOR UC – IR-ESA WILL CONTINUE FOR TWO WEEKS FROM DATE OF CLAIM FIRST PAYMENT OF UC PAID THREE WEEKS AFTER THE ESA-TWO WEEK PAYMENT My timetable: a) 27th June 2025: Date of 'Universal Credit Migration Notice. b) 28th September 2025: Final date to claim for UC c) Current ESA: Living Expenses £92.05/Severely Disabled £82.90/Disability Income Guarantee £21.20/Support Group £48.50/ TOTAL £244.65 per week. d) FUTURE PAYMENTS: AUGUST: PIP 06/08/25 - ESA 08/08/25 AND 22/08/25 e) FUTURE PAYMENTS: SEPTEMBER: PIP 03/09/2026 - ESA 05/09/25 AND 19/09/25 I do not need to include anything in support of my migration as I understand. It should be a 'simple' migration. What date should I submit? Thanking everyone in advance for your thoughts.

Hi KrisB

You have to get your timing right, as you are in receipt of ESA your best time to apply is just after your ESA hits your bank account.

ESA is paid every two weeks whereas UC is paid monthly.

PIP has no effect on your UC claim, as you are in the support group, you should be placed in the LCWRA group without having to supply a fit note.

You may want to discuss with your local Welfare Rights Organisation: advicelocal.uk, the best time to apply.
