I did already submit this question, experience
And it's not showing!
(Edit I received the migration letter in the post 2 months after the date on the letter)

I've read the guides yet I am not exactly clear with what exactly is the process moving from IR ESA legacy benefits to UC
When there's no use of the internet, unable to maintain a online claim.

I was led to believe a home visit would be granted to deal with the process.

Now after speaking to UC departments they are adamant a telephone claim is the process and a home visit would only be for a welfare check and to signpost to support agencies that would be able to assist in making the UC claim. ???!!!!

The experience so far has been dreadful
The vast majority at these UC dept's unfortunately have been unhelpful and lacking in any substantial knowledge ,, they are like robots on repeat just pushing to claim, claim now! And say any queries have them dealt with later by a work coach !

*I have managed to get a month's extension that ends next week *


Only after spending on and off almost 3 weeks being bounced around different sections of the UC dept's and managed after demanding, to speak with a manager after several hours wait, to express my disability and the barriers trying to claim , he wasn't interested and said phone a few days before the deadline for an extension.
Plus for management he was totally inept!

I'm disgusted that they say they do not 'necessarily' liaise with ESA to flag extra support claimants.
I'm struggling on my own to get this done under immense pressure.
And the UC department overall isn't interested.

I have spoken to 2 decent people who answered the phones at UC yet even then they weren't familiar with the process on what's required when claiming and advised a claim can be started then finished later,, when I expressed alarm for my health at a telephone claim can take approximately 30 minutes.

Have you tried phoning the CItizens Advice Help to Claim service for advice ?
