UC Payment Multiple Problems was created by stan
Going through the worst time with UC with multiple problems since migrating from ESA:

1) First problem: we got first statement on 5th Aug and it said housing element has been set up to being paid directly to landlord. However Council told me after 1 month they still not received it and rent in arrears. i have called and messaged multiple times UC and they keep saying it has been cashed. I call council and they say to ask UC as they not received anything. I even raised complaint but case manager just replies with same message "it has been cashed and paid on 5th aug". I keep asking to be escalated but does not listen to me.

2) Another Second problem: today 1st Sep it said will receive statement for next payment which will be on 5th Sep but when i checked today there was no statement. I called and they said to wait until 5pm. I checked again and still nothing. This is making me worried i wont even be paid anything for next payment let alone housing element problem.

I am so overwhelmed and i dont know what to do. Nobody want to help. Everytime i call UC i get same response. I even tried to put in complaint but nobody has even got in touch back.

Please i really beg someone for some advice. What can i do?

Hi stan

You are fortunate to have the Council as a landlord as this means they have direct access to Universal Credit through the Social Landlord portal. So I would ask them for a print out of the screen showing the credits to your rent account from UC. If they refuse you can tell them that they will have to give you this information if you make a Subject Access Request ( SAR ) under the GDPR rules.

Here are instructions on how to investigate the entries in the statements on your UC account.

Have you sent a UC Journal message yet to the UC Case Manager ?

Let me know how things progress on this issue.
