I received a text today from HMCTS Scotland to say that my PIP telephone tribunal appeal will be in Scotland even though I am in England. I phoned the Scottish helpline and was advised the Scottish courts are taking English cases to 'help out' the backlog.
Until today I thought the two judicial systems were completely separate so that this would not be possible. Are there any implications for hearing an English PIP appeal in Scotland, and anything I need to know?
That's interesting - I hadn't realised that was happening. People who live in Scotland now receive ADP not PIP. This is different for you. If they are taking English cases to help clear the backlog, the process will be no different from if it was held in England - It's as process they are very familar with.
