When to tell UC

When you receive UC, the assessment period for the current UC period is ignored as savings until the following assessment period.

When you go over £6k in savings then you need to inform UC via your journal that you have over £6k in savings.

You need to seek specialist advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation: advicelocal.uk where they can take all your circumstances into consideration when giving you advice.
