1st time pip application was created by rik
Hi
we are thinking of applying for pip for the 1st time and I am messaging to ask if the online form is similar to the uc online form where you can fill sections/parts of the form in and then save the info for another time or does the whole form have to be filled in at same time and then submitted?
I have checked and we live in a postcode area that applying online is ok
Thanks
Rik

Hi rik
I haven't used the online system, so I can't tell you. I do know that in the past six months, several people have had problems with saving and the online system - but whether that was a user or systems problem, I cannot say.

Is there a pip application form that can be downloaded or is only obtained by ringing the dwp and they send one out?
It's just everytime in the past when we have rung the dwp an esa50 or uc50 as it will be in the future has dropped through the letter box within weeks of the phone call

Hi rik
You can only get a paper PIP application by contacting DWP, as it has a bar code on, ESA forms can be downloaded on line.
DWP are starting to roll out online PIP claims form.

Hi Rik ,
I've just submitted my 4th PIP claim (all for different ppl in my life) . I've had experience of both paper and online application processes.
i defo prefer the online process. U can save the form as you go along. U must remember to save as you progress through the sections. dont have to follow the order of sections as listed online . perhaps do a test by writing one section in brief and going back and forth until happy and comfortable with it and how to make edits. Nothing will be submitted until the end
‼️Keep a personal file copy for yourself. in case technology fails or system wipes all your efforts. this has happened to me recently.
My choice on paper or online has been led by DWP online eligibility checker and calls to DWP.
2 applications i made were advertised as paper only , but when i called to start the process we were offered the option to do it online and sent a unique link which i was happy with and has worked fine.
good luck
