I will David and thank you so much for all your help.
Do you think she would be entirely on Universal Credit now and have no Contribution based ESA paid separately since her husband passed away? She is single and has no savings.
Thank you.
Jessica

Hi Tigerlily11
Your friend should get both NS ESA and UC.
Your friend may also be entitled to claim bereavement support payment; www.gov.uk/bereavement-support-payment

Hi,
I just want to thank you all especially Gary and David on behalf of my friend who’s husband had recently passed away. She has finally got her Universal Credit sorted after them telling her she was entitled to nothing. She will receive £214.36 a month in two separate payments of £107.18 every two weeks.
It has been such a worry for her.
Do Universal Credit contact ESA or does my friend need to? I am assuming she will still get her Contribution Based ESA or do they transfer her to NS ESA and is there anything she needs to do? Also should her Contribution Based ESA remain the same amount she gets now?
Thank you again for the work you do and the difference you make.

Hi Tigerlily11
She needs to keep an eye on the To Do's in her UC account that will tell her of any actions she needs to do.
She can inspect her UC statement that is posted to her account 4 days prior to the payment.
