Universal Credit Journal Question was created by NeedingHelp2025
Good evening,
I migrated from ESA to UC march of this year, because of your guides it was relatively simple, thank you, although I know not everyone was as fortunate,
Hello , my name is from Jobcentre.
Would you like to have a chat about how I can help you?
We can talk about how I can support you. And we can identify things you can do to help you take the next steps – but only when you’re ready to.
For example, we can talk about:
- developing your skills
- building your confidence
- the things that matter to you
- potential options for the future
This chat is voluntary for you. It will not cause us to reassess your capability for work. The amount of Universal Credit you receive will not change.
If you want to know more, please reply to this journal message. I will arrange to contact you at a convenient time.
Can you please advise me as this is causing me stress and worry as I suffer from paranoid schizophrenia.
Do I need to actually answer this, as there is no way I can talk to them, they say its voluntary but can they sanction me if I don't answer?
Thank you.

Hi NeedingHelp2025
In that case as you are in the Support Group you don't have to respond to any requests to look for work from the Jobcentre and you can just ignore them.
