My wife

My wife has no income whatsoever and is totally dependent on me, a state pensioner 10 years older. She has a phobia about the internet. Can I make a claim on her behalf for carers' allowance?

Thank you David. My wife gets no benefits whatsoever; she is currently 65. I have to care for her as she has a chronic thyroid condition (a rare variant) and is often immobile. I have 3 small pensions includign state pension. She keeps telling me that she is not entitled to a state pension as she spent most of her working life bringing up children as a single parent. No housing benefit; my house is paid for.
