UC have phoned my daughter 3 times regarding a “review”.
The first 2 phone calls they couldn’t get a good phone line, so they said they would mark her down as failing to attend! I’m not happy about that. We barely managed to hear the agent today, mostly because I had to press my head against my daughters to try to listen to what they were saying.
The agent had a very thick African accent and it was very difficult to understand her, and I’m not being rascist saying that.
She is so ill that she doesn’t know what she is saying , and they refused to speak to me, even though she gave verbal permission .
She has given me authorisation to speak on her behalf at her drs, and the hospital, also with PIP. Surely , as UC are part of the DWP, as are PIP, that authorisation should be enough?

Hi Rosie45**
One question I would ask you, do you have lasting power of attorney (LPA)? if you do then you can speak on behalf of your daughter; www.gov.uk/power-of-attorney.
You may want to register a formal complaint in regards to putting your daughter down failed to attend due to poor phone line, I would also contact your MP's office.

Thank you Gary.
I don’t have lasting power of attorney. I never thought of that to be honest, but I’ll try and look into it.
They are repeatedly asking for various bank statements which we have sent, and that was very difficult for us to do. They are still asking her to upload bank statements from January 2023 to present day. She probably has too much savings but pip phoned her out of the blue because they had reviewed her case, without us asking, and gave her about £7000 back pay. It’s hardly fair if they decide to penalise her. It’s very stressful for both of us.
