Stopped work due to my disability was created by Yesuf
My Friend has problems in his spine and his legs and it is very difficult for him to walk and has falls many times . he used to work 16 hr/ week with difficulty ,pain and risk of fall. but now it t become impossible for him to continue work and stopped work after admitted to hospital. .after stopped work claimed UCnow and they send him WCA50.
His employers decided he is unfit to contue work and dismissed him . does this help him for the assessment. Or it will have negative effect. Could you please share your opinion.
Thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Yesuf
I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Being dismissed by his employer because of his inability to fulfil his duties due to his disabilities will certainly not be held against him when completing his form. It should strengthen his claim, as it was the employer's choice that he is not fit to work.

Thanks for your reply BIS
My friend prefers face to face assessment during the WCA assessment. So do they give you opportunity to chose from fave to face , tel call or video ilnk . ? Does the DWP decide themselves how the assessment conducted.?
Thanjs

Hi Yesuf
When filling out the form, your friend can add a note where it says is there anything else you want to say, that he would like a face-to-face assessment. Whether he is given one will depend on availability in his area. Although they have started to do a few face-to-face assessments, it's certainly not common at the moment. He may find that he has to travel a bit further for one. If he gets offered an assessment that he doesn't like, e.g., a telephone assessment, he can always appeal and ask them to change it. He could do that on two occasions, but on the third he would have to accept whatever type was offered.
