Short Term PIP award was created by Kuju2
Hi all,

I have just had my telephone assessment for my new pip claim yesterday. I have Fibromyalgia, Complex Trauma, Chronic Kidney Disease and other conditions.

In the assessment I had to tell them that I was awaiting appointment for pain management clinic in October and also for another course of therapy.

As I understand it award lengths are now a minimum of 3 years but if the assessor thinks your symptoms will improve because of pain management, therapy etc, it can still be a fixed award of 1-2 years.

My question is, has anyone here received a fixed short term award after April this year due to waiting for pain management or anything else that might improve quality of life? Is it likely I will?

I just don't think I can go through the whole process again if I get a short term award.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Kuku2

I hope that someone may be able to tell you about their experience since April.
