When a Pip award ends was created by Kaz
Does anyone have any idea what happens when a Tribunal Award, which gave enhanced Pip for 5 years, ends. DWP told me the funds would not stop, but I have since heard all money stops when a Tribunal award date ends.
This would leave me in a very scary situation. I would face instant financial impact.
I will be 65 when the award ends and understand it will be harder to get pip than it ever was, with new rules coming into force.
The last Pip claim took 18 months and ended up at the Tribunal. By which time suicidal ideation hit, and it severely impacted my mental wellbeing to this day. It was a gruelling, degrading and agonising 18 months. With assessments that were full of twisted content on the part of DWP, even my GP was horrified at the impact it had, and how cruel the ordeal was.
.
Surely DWP cannot just leave someone with £0 PIP when they have incurable and deteriorating health issues that inhibit their life, by them adding poverty to the mix?

Hi Kaz
I would be interested to know who " told " you that. As far as I am aware what you are saying was DWP policy but it was changed in July 2021 so that a PIP Tribunal Awards for a fixed term became the same as a PIP award via the usual process and ca now be given an automatic extension.
