New Style ESA Credits - Just been sent my P45

Dear Mods,

Just thought I would share this odd experience. Apparently the Reason why my recent tax coding has changed is because HMRC received a P45 from DWP.
Phoned DWP 30/10/26 an agent told me it's unusual and couldn't identify why it had happened and will escalate to a supervisor. I've reconfirmed I'm still entitled to credits.

As the person I spoke to was so helpful I tackled a long o/s issue I had with them, being my award reasoning and points letter. He confirmed my points for physical and mental a d said he will send me a copy in the post. He said the reason I wasn't sent the award letter previously is because I didn't appeal the award and they only send the letters to those appealing. My crux of it I explained to him is at some point in the future you may want to review my award and I will still be uninformed of my award points or reasoning and that is something I should be given visibility of. I shouldn't have to go to the new gov website and download one which I did.

Have you heard of people with entitlement being sent P45? Also I've not had a telephone call prior from DWP advising of change.

I'll let you know if I receive my award points letter this time.

Hi Jane

To answer your question "Have you heard of people with entitlement being sent P45?" Yes it is standard practice for the DWP to post a P45 to the claimant when a New Style ESA or New Style JSA claim terminates.
Maybe other Forum members have had experiences similar to yours.
