Do many people have the WFHRA seperately?

Hi, medical services called today to arrange my WFHRA (i think its that, the one at the end of your medical?) I thought this was done at my medical but apparently not.

It says when I read through the info here that a second HCP doing it is usually only in exceptional circumstances and it is normally done at the same time and by the same HPC as your medical.

Is there any way of finding out the reason why it was not done at the medical? I would assume there must be a reason given by the dr as to why it was not possibleto do it.

Thansk for any help

Hi John,

Because there is such a huge backlog for both ESA and IB medicals it now seems to be becoming the norm for the WFHRA to be carried out separately by a different doctor weeks after your medical.

We will include this information when we update the ESA guides over the next month, but in the meantime you can be assured that you are not being singled out in any way - it's just the whole system is falling to bits.

Good luck,

Steve

:( I too am caughtup in this whole mess, of WFHRA. I am absolutely positive that the original doctor at my original medial asked me all the relevant questions, in November 2009. I now have to attend one of these wretched interviews tomorrow 9steve has already kindly commented that this should not stop my benefit in any way. It is nonetheless extremely worrying and distressing. I have already been to the Jobcentre Advisor person, I have already had the Shaw trust interveiw (pathways to work) and been signed off by them until January 2011 - what a complete waste of time and effort by everyone - including me. All that Atos and the Jobcentre can say is that if I dont attend the interview my benefit will stop. I have been awarde the £84 pounds per week rate, since February of this year, backdated to when I first applied for ESA. No wonder the whole system is falling apart! Unemployement up to 2.5 million - how soon I wonder before all this is quietly forgotten, and the Incapacitated and disabled just sink back into the forgotten and unknown?? GGGRRRRRRR!!!! Lainie xx

I had my WFHRA about a month after my first medical where I was put on limited work capacity after the WFHRA and answering the questions that are listed on this site I got my Pathways to work interview about three weeks later.

Since then Pathways have sent me to WSSS (Work Stress solutions)this is a private company where they analyse what work you can really do and what equipment you might need to help you work I must say the emphasise is mainly on work, not medical after this period of learning and seeing what you can achieve decides if you are sent to the job centre or not.

I go every Tuesday for three hours to try and improve my typing skill's the agency made sure they let me know they do not offer jobs that is for the job centre but you already know you have to find your own job there too.

Don't be pushed into doing things you cannot do that is my advice.

Thanks for your replies guys.

I have mine at home on 4th may, I also had my medical at home.

I suppose we just have to go through the whole nonsense and the pathways interviews etc whether we need them or not....

So I am classed as fit to look for "other" work which I have no intention of doing because as soon as I am fit to work I have a job to go to, it is crazy...hope I just get parked up somewhere!!
