2nd DLA tribunal was created by daddylonglegs
I applied for DLA IN Jan 09 - was refused - went to Tribunal Dec 09 - no decision was made and I was told that I would have to attend another tribuanl once they had received further info from my GP. My GP does not know the first thing about my conditions nor does she have any time or interest in finding out. I didn't discover your website in time to help with my application or tribunal. I have ME and Orthostatic Tremor - both conditions misunderstood/unknown even to medics and where heard of there appears to be no interest in them. What can I do now?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi,
If you're not confident that your GP can supply accurate information to the tribunal, is there anyone else who can? For example, have you seen a specialist at any point?
Good luck,
Steve

Hi daddy,
You could consider keeping a diary record of your care needs and mobility problems for a couple of weeks prior to your appeal.
That way you will be giving the tribunal an idea of what its like for you and this would be based on fact.
It's the facts that the tribunal have to establish.

your gp might not know or be bothered about ME but the tribunal will know about it so give them evidance you have and they will be able to come to conclusions about it. as for Orthostatic Tremor ? who said you have that? as they are best placed to supply evidance and information to the tribunal

Many thanks for your comments - the last person I saw was during my divorce proceedings 2 1/2 years ago - we had to pay him a lot of dosh + it took him a substantial amount of time to dig my OT notes out of the local hospital basement archives!

Thanks for your reply - this is a very good idea - I just have to find the energy to do it!
