PATHWAYS TO WORK LETTER was created by dean stockton
Is it common to have a pathways to work interview the day after your medical assessment?

On the 6/5/10 they changed my medical with a few hours notice to the 25/5/10 then today a letter arrived with a pathways to work interview appointment for the 26/5/10 I phoned my daughter who takes me to as many appointments as possible, she couldn't take me, so I phone the JCP although they offered to pay taxi fares if the driver found the place he would have as much chance of waking me as a corpse in a morgue, plus with been unable to get out because I cannot make the nearest bus stop or train station, 5 minutes away for a fit person, I don't feel like I want to step out of the door, I feel nervous as soon as I get outside :( I just want to turn around and go back inside.
I did get a date from my daughter when she would be able to take me and arranged a time on one of the 2 dates she gave me.

Apart from the question at the very top some more are,
how would the decision maker have time to come to a decision about my claim?
Does the pathways to work letter mean my medical is going to also include the LCW & other test(s)
But my main concern was that the decision of my medical is partly decided as been in the work focused group or not ill enough to claim ESA

The Pathways to Work interviews are arranged irrespective of whether you have had a work capability assessment for ESA.

Many members who have posted in the forum have raised this matter on the same basis as yourself. In essence, the Pathways letter has no connection with the timing of your WCA, and until the medical assessment has taken place, no decision will have been taken about your fitness for work.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Thanks crazydiamond, to me it seems a waste of government money putting people through that when some don't need to go through the process, although they say may who go into the support group get picked up when they fill in the form(s)they could save money by not seeing anyone until they are put into the group that means they need a pathways to work appointment.
