Temporary Closure of Forums. was created by Jim Allison BSc, Inst LE, MBIM; MA (Consumer Protection & Social Welfare Law)
Hi All,

As members will have read from Steve's Newsletter yesterday, unfortunately it will be necessary to close the forums the end of this week until September due to illness and unavailability of moderators.

We can only apologise for this. If there are existing members of the site with experience of giving information and advice about benefits who would be interested in lending a hand, please do get in touch with This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Just a brief reminder, that although the forums will be closed, members should still be able to download Steve's guides by clicking ' Help for Claimants' in the yellow box at the left hand side of the page via the home page : www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/home

During the temporary closure, you may find these forums of help.

Advice Now and Consumer Action Group

Take care.

Jim

Sorry but I cannot advise as to when the forums will be reopening. I wasn't even aware that a decision had been taken (by whomever) to close them and I'm a mod!!

Hi All,

The forums will open again on 1 September.

Gareth, I'm sorry we didn't have time to inform mods in advance, but as you know my personal circumstances mean that I'm around very little this month and a health issue arose at short notice for one of the few mods we have posting on a daily basis at the moment.

Rather than have those of you who are available becoming even more overworked I decided that a complete break for everyone would be the best solution.

Steve

Presumably the forums will be still readable and searchable, but that new posts will not be added.

I think that some members would be reassured to know that they can search for information even though new posting is not going on. For me, reading the threads cheers me up considerably!!

I am sorry that you are having to close the boards for a while. If it's any help when you get back, I have been a mod on another board before now. I also used to be a local councillor and have some experience with benefit issues, although nowhere near the experience the mods here seem to have.
I should warn you though, I'm not very techy!
All the best,
Faery.
