IB review 1 year overdue was created by Francis
My IB review (due after 5 years) is now nearly a year overdue - which is good in a way - but what is worrying is that if it goes on much longer I shall come in under the new ESA regime straight away. Shall I phone the DWP and hurry them up or shall I just lie low and hope they have forgotten about me altogether? I am sure there must be others in a similar situation.I must admit I am seriously scared about the future. :(

Well mines over two years overdue now!

The paranoid in me thinks I'm being held back to be shoved into the trial group in October and the other half of me thinks that It's just the DWP being miles late in dealing with all matters concerning IB now that they've got the ESA transfer to contend with too.

I jump every time an envelope pops through the door these days.

Hi all

They really are making all of our lives a misery and paranoid. I really feel for all of you, i have already been placed in the support group for ESA. The sad thing is it isnt the end just getting that sorted, as i am now having problems with mortgage re interest rates. I know exactly how you feel about getting them brown envelopes

When and where is all this going to end? I too am very scared about the future. My GP is doing what she can to get my blood pressure stable i am on 4 different drugs to control it and its still high and this isnt the disability that is keeping me from working. I just wish i could go to sleep and when i wake up everything has been sorted!!! (i wish)

I guess we need to stick together and dont ever feel alone we are all here for you. Sometimes kind words can help.

Keep your chin up and dont let the b
ds get you down. I know it is easier said than done.

Kind wishes
Mm x ;)

My 5 year IB review was due last may 24 2010, I also had a letter off the decision maker apologising that he could not give me more than 5 years, as the doctor said i was unlikly to improve.
On the 1st of AUG this year i went to my solicitor to say i had heard nothing from the DWP, no ib50 no review nothing.
My solicitor wrote to the DWP saying his client/myself had a right to be reviewed under IB rules, and if i wasent my solicitor would see it as abuse of power.
I received a letter withinn a week of the solicitors letter being sent, saying my review date would be 1st of SEPT this year.
I still have not recieved anything.
My solicitor thinks the DWP are trying it on with claimants who would be expected to receive a long award under IB rules.

AS far as I know the only way we can fall into the trial groups is if we live in Aberdeen or Burnley. I have always had regular reviews before so I am now VERY suspicious about what is going on.If a lot of us are in the same boat is there anything we can do about it?
