Anyone notice how Frank Field has disappeared from view. Is he a back room boy now, working on the tyrannical plans for us all. A career wanting to be the welfare reformer only to be upstaged by
IDS who clearly beleives the minimum wage will rescue people from poverty

Hi XFACTOR,
I had an interesting conversation with My M.P on Saturday morning and he openly admitted to only having a basic knowledge of the benefit system.
As such He was under the misguided impression that all D.L.A recipients would be placed in the E.S.A Support group.
When I explained this was not the case and the majority are placed in the E.S.A WRAG and those on C.B E.S.A irrespective of any D.L.A award were going to lose any claim to E.S.A benefits after twelve months He seemed somewhat confused and concerned.
I believe many M.P'S are not informed that the descriptors for the E.S.A Support group are more rigid than that of D.L.A.
One can only conclude MP'S are unaware
of the effects of the Welfare Reform Policies which they are trying to implement.
Anyone planning to visit their M.P please educate them as to the difference in E.S.A and D.L.A descriptors and inform them that those on D.L.A are not automatically placed in the E.S.A Support Group.

Can I just state that there are NO plans to move people on DLA to ESA of any kind, it is Incapacity Benefit that is being moved.

DLA is provided to help the disabled cope with their disabilities, whereas ESA and IB are provided to those who's disbailities prevent them from working.

Stephen - I think you may have misunderstood the message you quote. As I read it, it's not about people on DLA getting ESA instead, it's about people who are on both DLA and ESA being allocated to either the support group or the WRAG.

I think the nickname sounds far too benevolent for any politician involved in the cuts, but I'm just feeling hostile towards politicians at the moment.
