Offer to House of Lords to wipe out UK debts

Some unknown group has made an offer to a member of the House of Lords to wipe out a large part of the UK debts. It is an apparently genuine offer - I wonder if the government will take them up on it.

If you think this is a hoax follow the link to read about it in Hansards it starts about the 1st of November Column 1538.

I won't even read it. There is no such thing as a free lunch It is really so ludicrous as to be contemptible.

If it were true, I think the Government would have jumped on it and we would be hearing about this miracle rescue on TV
