Recording of Medicals

Recording of Medicals was created by Graham
I read on here that someone had his medical recorded - using the two tape method.
Upon reading others' medical and the reports coming from them I do feel we should all have our medicals recorded.
My Question is "Are we now allowed to have our medicals recorded if we request that it is done so in advance?"
Surely if everyone had this done it would reduce any misinterpretation of answers etc.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Graham,
The current answer seems to be no. Following the Harrington review Atos are to introduce a pilot scheme somewhere and sometime in which medicals will be recorded. Meanwhile they have returned to their default position of insisting you provide your own sound engineer.
Good luck,
Steve

hi Graham
i'm the 1 who had the medical recorded in october last year.
if you still have the forms to send them, still put on it you want your medical recorded. or, send them a letter. the more people say they this, it might put some fear into the DWP and ATOS.
they may not recorded it, but they will know we are starting to fight back
the DWP know i will never have another medical without it being recorded.
as i have always said, we have nothing to hide having a medical recorded
good luck

Hi tb1uk, I think requesting it is a really good idea.
When I have my next one I might write this on the form;
"Due to the numerous inaccuracies in the report from my last Atos Medical, I wish to record this one"
Best wishes,
Rachel

hi Rachel
good idea. we need to let them know we won't drop the subject. people should put it on even if they don't want it recorded.
it's a good protest move

i have just phoned the Commercial Management of
Medical Services
North Fylde Central Office
Norcross
Block 3 Room 306
Blackpool
asking what the situation is on recording medicals are. when he asked my name, he knew who i was
he asked me to email him the information i needed.
i sent the following
Dear Sir or Madam
Can you email me the current situation on having DWP/ATOS medicals recorded.
As you are aware, I was the first to have my medical recorded.
Can you also send me the information as to what someone can and cannot do with their copy of the tape, if the ATOS doctor will be identified (as in my case he was not) also, will LIMA be used in a recorded medical (my medical did not use LIMA)
Thanks
as soon as i get a reply, i will post it on here
