I'm not in debt. I only once had a bill I couldn't pay and I took my television and other stuff down to the pawnbrokers the following Saturday and paid it off.
I've given debt advice and I see the sheer misery that debt causes, and for some it's unavoidable, but I'm often surprised that people won't sell things to get out of debt.
If you're in debt, I strongly advise you to go to a free debt advice service such as CCCS or National Debtline or Christians Against Poverty (there are others). Beware of imitations that come up when you do a search.
An experienced adviser will be able to give you an idea of what sort of payments creditors will accept and which debts you can get written off. There are also some sources of help with debt - for example, some fuel and water companies have charities that will help with bills.

It is obviously going to be a concern paying off a debt and find your income reduced or your dla removed.
What might prove to be a help for a few people particularly those on water meters is that apparently if you live in an area which has fluoride in the water you can write to your water company saying you object to the introduction of fluoride and are reducing the amount you are paying them as you have to pay for bottled water and filters to make the water useable.

Then visit this water utilities web site and enter your post code to see if you live in an area with fluoride in your water.

Well thats weird. I tried putting in my local post code and it says it couldn't find any details for that area. So I tried my friends address and that didn't work either.
Oh well.

After you said that I tried a few different post codes from other parts of the country. On some it said you were in a fluoride free part and on others it said no available information.
I wonder if they are trying to hide the fact that some areas are fluoridinated as they know people can stop paying part of their water rates.
I think it might be worth dropping a line to ask them to test your water and let you know if there is any fluoride in it. It is supposed to be a free test.

Wouldn't the amount of water you drink form a very small proportion of your water consumption by comparison with bathing, laundry and flushing the toilet? Surely you couldn't reasonably reduce your water bill by much?
