Pathways to Work...no longer?? was created by fortyplus
Today I attended my appointment for my Pathways to Work WFI no 3. I was expecting the adviser to have arranged a work placement for me into some voluntary work experience say one day a week. However, when I arrived the adviser sat me down and explained that Pathways to Work is ceasing in March as part of the government cuts. Therefore I was not 'interviewed' today and won't be called to attend again. The office I attend is closing down. What happens now? Anyone else heard about this??

They're setting up a new scheme and companies and charities are currently putting in bids to run it. It has run into difficulties because a number of bidders has pulled out because they feel that the amount offered by the government isn't enough to make it viable.

You might want to check it is still being held, but not all PtoW are carried out by external agencies some are still done by Job Centre staff.

www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/work-prog-itt.pdf

Just wondered what other people make of the data on pages 24 and 25

I find it either complete wishful thinking on behalf of the DWP or just bloody scary!

Best wishes,
Rachel

thanks Gordon. I have called JC, but the advisor I am to see is not in. Will call again. I have not received any questionnaires (ESA50?) about my health problems and their impact - is that right?? thanks so much.
