DLA Question was created by pete1
Hi Folks,
I received a DLA form last week, but there is no information as to where i should post the completed form to. I phoned the jobcentre office that sent me the form and i asked them for the address of the office to send the form to. To my complete surprise the person said that i would probably need the help of the citizens advice to fill the form in and that they would tell me the address where to post the completed DLA form to. Is this right?

They should have sent you an SAE.

Here are the contact details. Just call the Benefits Enquiry Line and ask them to send you an SAE, or download the notes, which have the address in them.

Hi Pete
I can't believe what I'm hearing!
You may need the advice of the CAB to fill in the form, but as you were only asking for the address to send it, you would expect them to have that information at hand.
They should have sent you an SAE but even that's only prepaid 2nd class. I usually have to put an additional stamp on the envelope to make sure it meets the deadline.

Thanks all,
I think that it really shows the true contempt the DWP treats people with.

Yes they could have given you address and yes it is outrageous they only give out 2nd class envelopes when they they know you have to obey their strict dealines.
But look on the bright side. I was surprised and it made me smile to see they offered you advice. Kind of thought there will be plenty who wouldnt want to recommend you go to CAB to get the form filled out as well as poss (asd it'a against DWP and this governments agenda to try and help[ anyone stay on or get an equivalent amount of ESA to their IB).
Made me smile and I was happy they wanted to make sure it was filled in well
Yeah the whole attitude and dirty sometimes illegal actions of the DWP and Government stinks. It's obvious what they are up to trying to get as many as poss onto JSA gen sick as well as cheats.
But remember a lot of DWP staff are just doing a job and many of them may be sickened at the job they're bosses and government are trying to get them to do.
See my seperate thread for 2 ideas I've had how to shame the DWP staff and try to make them refuse to do the work for their managers and government
