Pathways to work was created by Liz Howie
Hi
I wonder why i have to go to a pathways to work interveiw. I've recently had a medical for my SDA and fount to be unfit for work. It doesn't make sense to then be asked to an interview, to help me back to work. Seems to be a contradiction. Can anyone shed any light?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Liz,
Pathways interviews are for people who the DWP think can be helped back into work even though they may currently be classed as unfit for work.
You can read more about this in our guide to Getting the best from work-focused interviews in the work section of the members area.

hi liz, i wouldnt worry to much about pathways etc its just a meeting with an advisor about what you may be able to do! present your self with your problems and that should be that, as it was for me , you have to do, i think it was five visits to qualify! and your done! its just one of those formalities , i had a super lady and it all took five minutes each time, if you have issues no work! she just feeds it in to a lap top as feed back! I hope that helps its not all doom and gloom! but be nice and just say whats wrong with you etc! there where people there getting abusive and drunk and not turning up etc it seemed if you where normal it gave them a break! all the best rap.

Hi Gordon
Thanks i looked at it. It just seems the whole carry on is to put you off claiming, you just seem to get hassled at every turn.
I struggle with my every day living and this is just not helping in fact it is hindering me.
