:unsure: Hello to all im unsure what to do and id be grateful if anyone could help my son D.L.A. will be up for renewel in August and we have not recieved the pack as of late but my query is he will be 18 in september so will he have the adult form or the child as he goes to college and they have found he as moderate learning difficulties which were ignored at school which we knew all along he had now another thing my son cannot manage on his own like a normal child is own age please can anyone put me in the direction were I should be looking at at the moment he gets HRC and LRM all I want is the best for my son he as other problems as well so please id be grateful if anyone could help were to start Thankyou all very much who reads this

If he chooses not to manage his own affairs then you can act as an appointee .it all depends since he is 18 whether he is capable of acting on his own behalf, if not you can act as appointee.You will get a home visit to make sure you are not coercing him which is very straighforward,hope that helps... :)

Thankyou very much midnighter for your help its very much appreciated ive just one more thing were do I look at the threads for help on D.L.A.for my son as I said he should have been S.E.N.while at school but they took the biscuit and college have found he needs help he as a mentor as he can and will go off at the slightest thing even change disrupts him he cannot get through a normal daily routine and im so :angry: with education at failing my son now he as become to need more help is there any links on here what I can look at there was one by steve can anyone tell me where it is Thankyou all very much I hope you all get treated fairly as D.L.A is not easy and not being able to do the things makes you sad my son is suffering

:unsure: Hello again,I think ive made a mistake and im so worried I just do not know where to start please id be grateful if anyone would help.My son applied for D.L.A.and when he was due to leave school they asked if he could manage is own affairs we said yes as we did,nt want any disruption as my son can and will at the slightest change well is claim is up for renewel and I just do not know where to begin there was a link on here by Steve and Holliday how to claim D.L.A. please can anyone direct me to that also would it be ok if we told the D.L.A.that my son cannot manage is own affairs and he cannot manage a full day im so drained I just dont know where to start im worried that telling D.L.A he cannot manage is own affairs any information id be grateful Thankyou all so much

I've merged the two threads you have created, to make it easier for people to answer your questions.

I'm not sure if the link you are referring to, but have you looked at the DLA guides in the Members area.

Click on the Help for Claimants link in the orange area on the left of the page, and them on the Disability Living Allowance Claims link.

If you don't think your son can manage his own affairs then mention it to the DLA,they won't mind.To become your sons appointee you will have to be interviewed probably at home,before you become appointee.
