ESA - WRAG no reason given.

Hubby got his ESA decision letter today, has been put in WRAG group using the information from the ESA50 along with every scrap of medical information we could photo copy.
Now my question is, why have they not put down a reason as to why he has been put in the WRAG ? When he was initially refused DLA there was a list of reasons. I am at a loss as to what to focus his reasoning for appeal.
Any info would be appreciated, thank you

I think you are misunderstanding what the WRAG is.
Your husband has been found to be unfit to work, in other words he passed the tests and has been awarded ESA at the WRAG rate.
If you want to know how many points he scored, you can request his medical report from your local DWP office, either by letter or phone.
If you believe that he should have been in the Support Group because he meets one or more of the criteria, then you can appeal, but I would reccomend that you seek independant advice as although it is rare, he could be jeopardising his existing award.

It is all so confusing at times, I am sure we will get to grips with it all one day.
Yes we do believe that he should be in the support group & we will
Think carefully about appealing, thank you again

Gordon, I know that the information about the support group criteria is in one of your guides, but there are now so many that I can't locate which document I should be looking through.Jellie

Could you tell me how to find this one - which list and which document. Sorry to sound wimpish

Have a look at page 24 onwards of the Understanding ESA guide (03/11).
